Panchkula: The incomplete work of the MC office building will be completed. Tender will be allotted again

The construction of the building being built in Sector-3 of the Municipal Corporation will start soon. The Urban Local Bodies Department has approved the allotment of the building by issuing a new tender to complete the pending work of the building. The tender will be issued for this soon. The selected agency will have to complete the remaining work in 9 months.

The Municipal Corporation may get its own office by the end of 2025. An estimate of Rs 17.50 crore has been prepared to complete the remaining work. The work of building structure has already been completed. Now only finishing is left. Work of tiles, granite, electrical fittings, paint is remaining.

The contractor who took the first contract had done work worth about 11 crores. There was a dispute between the contractor and the MC regarding laying tiles. Due to which the work has been stopped for the last 2 years. The contractor was given the work of building the building in 2019. According to the terms of the tender, the contractor had to complete the work in 2 years. This work should have been completed by 2021, but even after 5 years, 9-10 months of work is still left.
